Q:
Where do you teach your Hands-On Healing & Reiki course?

A: I’m based in Newry, Co. Down in Northern Ireland and regularly teach classes on a weekly basis in Newry.

Q: Which do you teach, Ciaran – Hands-On Healing or Reiki ?

A: Both.

Q:
What’s the difference?

A:
That’s a good question. Both are hands-on healing and I combine both in the one course, purely to give you a broader and wider perspective of what’s involved.

Reiki is a particular form of hands-on healing where you are ‘attuned’ by a Reiki Master into that way of healing. In Hands-On Healing, there is no attunement.

Q:
Why not do the courses separately? Why not teach Reiki in the traditional way, which is done over one day or weekend for each of the Reiki levels?

A: That’s the way I was introduced to Reiki – over a weekend for each of the Reiki stages. But this does little to enhance the understanding of how hands-on healing actually works nor does it give an energetic framework to operate from. You will notice from the NOTE above, that I’m reverting back to a weekend course format for Reiki 1 in September. It’s my last time to attune students to Reiki 1. If you wish to continue on to Reiki 2, then you are more than welcome to join the final Reiki 2 class (over a 24 week period) starting in January 2011.

I have done many other hands-on healing courses since then and this course combines all of this knowledge and includes the Reiki teaching and attunements as well. It’s really the Reiki course I would have wished for in the beginning.

Q: How would you summarise the broader strategy for combining this way?

A: That’s simple. Here they are:

  • This course provides a broader knowledge and deeper understanding of the energetics behind hands-on healing;

  • It gives prolonged supervised practice on the techniques of hands-on healing and the various hand positions used in Reiki;

  • It provides opportunities to develop your intuition and your 6th sense and to connect to inner guidance;

  • It provides techniques to develop your awareness, to step more into this present moment, and deepen your understanding of your sense of self; and

  • To understand that our perceptions of reality are coloured by what has happened to us in childhood and in major traumas in our lives, and how it is possible to make different choices in our lives.

Q: Do most people who complete the course(s) go on to practice part-time or full-time?

A:
Some do, many don’t. Most people do it for themselves. It’s time for themselves, it’s nourishing for the soul. Feedback from the courses often highlight the following additional interesting benefits:

  • Participants become calmer and more relaxed;

  • They have less stress, tension and anxiety in their lives;

  • There is a tendency to be more gentle and compassionate with themselves and with others;

  • They take life less seriously; and

  • They have a better sense of themselves and their worth.

Q: What’s the difference between the three levels of Reiki?

A:

  • Reiki 1 allows you to channel healing energy for yourself, your family and friends. This level is a permanent attunement to Reiki healing.

  • Reiki 2 increases the flow of healing energy through you and prepares you for working part-time or full-time in hands-on healing. It covers absent healing and mental-emotional healing.

  • Reiki 3 is the Mastership/Teacher level which entitles you to teach and to attune people into the three levels of Reiki.

Q: How long do your courses take? And what is the proportion between theory and practice?

A: Generally the time spend on theory and practice is split 50:50.
As for each of the Reiki / Hands-On Healing Courses, all classes are for periods of 2 hours, but with different course durations:

Reiki 1: Final course - weekend only In Sept 2010

Reiki 2: Duration - 24 weeks - starting January 2011

Reiki 3: Duration - 24 weeks - starting Janaury 2011

Q: Are there any exams at the end of each of your courses? Is it hard to learn?

A: No. There are no exams involved at any of the stages. You learn through plenty of hands-on practice plus feedback from the supervised practice during the course.

Hands-On Healing – Reiki is very easy to learn and very simple to use. It does not require months or years of continuous studying, though extensive practice does bring deeper and more profound understanding.

Q: What is the current cost of these courses and is there a payment schedule?

A: Reiki 1 costs £150, which is payable by Deposit of £50 and balance of £100 paid on registration on Saturday, 11th September 2010.

Reiki 2 costs £420, which is payable in three instalments of £140 each, payable at the 1st, 9th & 17th class.

Reiki 3 costs £750, which is payable in three instalments of £250 each, payable at the 1st, 9th & 17th class.

Q: When do your next courses start?

A: The best way to find out is to email me at cc@flowsoftly.com or ring me at (028) 3026 2123 (UK) or (048) 3026 2123 (RoI)

Q: Can you give me an idea of what you cover in your Reiki 1 course?

A: It covers the following topics;

  1. Reiki, its origins, development and capabilities

  2. How energetic healing works plus research

  3. Where to place your hands – on or over – the body

  4. Effects of a treatment – during and afterwards

  5. The Aura – how it originates, how to see it, to feel it with your hands and what the colours of the aura reflect

  6. The Meridians of the body – how they are affected and where they are located

  7. The 7 Chakras, their location, primary functions, how to feel them, using a pendulum to ‘see’ them, energy blockage and balancing,

  8. Silencing the Mind, developing awareness and mental preparation,

  9. Beginning and completing a treatment, plus guidelines for giving a treatment, and

  10. Oriental medical perspective on the major organ systems which impact on the Western Medical system.

Q:
Can you give me an idea of what you cover in your 24 week Reiki 2 course?

A:
In Reiki 2, the attunement significantly increases the amount of healing energy in your system and your ability to channel it, and concentrates mental, emotional and karmic healing in you. Following the attunement, old unresolved emotions, debilitating patterns and past lives memories may arise to be dealt with and healed.

It adds considerable extra power to your direct healing treatments and introduces you to absent healing – where you do not require the physical presence of the person to whom you send healing. You are also shown, given and attuned to three of the four Master Reiki symbols that you use consciously for the first time.

It covers the following topics;

  • The differences between Reiki 1 and Reiki 2

  • Introduction to the three Master Symbols

  • Cutting the Ties that Bind

  • Ethics, Practitioner Guidelines

  • Establishing a Business, Premises & Hygiene

  • How Energy healing actually affects the physical body

  • Developing your Intuition & Awareness

  • Exploration of the Base, Sacral and Solar Plexus Chakras

  • Chakra Clearing, Chakra Balancing & Chakra Dowsing

  • Developing Self-respect, Self-Esteem and Self-Worth

And much, much more.

Q:
Can you give me an idea of what you cover in your 24 week Reiki 3 course?

A: This information is only available to those who complete their Reiki 2.

Q: How does Hands-On Healing and Reiki fit in with your other disciplines?

A: It is another jigsaw part to the puzzle of life. It exposes us to the subtle body of energy which we connect to with our hands, either on or over the body, during treatment and to the causal body when we experience openness and spaciousness – either when we receive a treatment or when we give a treatment. The latter becomes apparent when we let go of the mind

This extension of our awareness and understanding pushes the limits of our beliefs beyond our current levels of perception.
